1. About these terms
These terms govern the cleaning services provided by Edinburgh Cleaning Co (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“the customer”, “you”). By booking a cleaning service or using our platform, you agree to these terms.
2. Our services
We provide professional cleaning services across Edinburgh, including but not limited to:
- Airbnb and short-let turnover cleaning
- End of tenancy cleaning
- Deep cleaning
- Regular domestic cleaning
- Commercial and office cleaning
3. Bookings and scheduling
- Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or by email.
- For calendar-synced properties, cleans are scheduled automatically based on your connected booking calendar.
- We will confirm each booking with the scheduled date, time, and assigned cleaner.
- We aim to assign the same cleaner to your property where possible, but reserve the right to assign a trained alternative when necessary.
4. Pricing and payment
- All prices are displayed on our website and quoted in GBP (£).
- Prices are based on property size and service type as listed on our pricing page.
- For regular or multi-property customers, we issue monthly invoices.
- Payment is due within 14 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' notice.
5. Access and property
- You must provide safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed time.
- You are responsible for providing accurate access instructions, key/lock codes, and parking information.
- If our cleaner cannot access the property at the scheduled time, a cancellation fee may apply.
- We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or issues with the property.
6. Cancellation
- 24+ hours notice: no charge.
- Less than 24 hours notice: 50% of the booking price may be charged.
- No-show / locked out: the full booking price may be charged.
- For calendar-synced properties, cancellations follow the same policy from the point the clean is scheduled.
7. Quality and complaints
- We provide photo verification of completed cleans where applicable.
- If you are not satisfied with a clean, please contact us within 24 hours.
- We will arrange a re-clean at no additional cost if the original clean did not meet our standards.
- Claims made after 24 hours or after subsequent guest use will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
8. Insurance and liability
- We carry public liability insurance covering accidental damage during cleaning.
- Any damage must be reported within 24 hours with supporting evidence (photos).
- Our liability is limited to the cost of repair or replacement of damaged items, up to the limit of our insurance policy.
- We are not liable for damage caused by pre-existing defects, normal wear and tear, or items left in unsafe positions.
9. Our cleaners
- Our cleaners operate as self-employed contractors.
- All cleaners are vetted, right-to-work checked, and trained to our standards.
- You agree not to directly employ or engage our cleaners outside of Edinburgh Cleaning Co for a period of 12 months after their last assignment to your property.
10. Data protection
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR. Property access details are shared only with cleaners assigned to your property.
11. No contracts
Our services operate on a rolling basis. There are no minimum terms or lock-in periods. You can stop using our services at any time by notifying us.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
